Electric Wheels Inc. of Salem Oregon, the nations number 1 E.V. dealership in the U.S. indicates their intention to build E.V.'s in Oregon in conjunction with Fleetwise Services.
SALEM, OREGON (May 10, 2007) – The leading Electric Car Dealership in the U.S. has announce their intention to manufacture Electric Vehicles in Salem, Oregon in a Joint Venture with FleetWise Servces also of Salem. The J.V. will strive to produce a car that will travel 100 miles on a charge while maintaining 65 mile per hour. In addition, the vehicle will be a two passenger "purebred" electric vehicle. The companies do not plan on building a hybrid vehicle. The time frame for the first vehicle is early fall, with production models available in early spring 2008. The goal is to produce 20 cars per month. As of this time, the price projection is in the mid $20,000 with a well equipped model in the high 20's.
The second Electric Vehicle planned to be produced will be a 4 door, 4 passenger car that wil get 50 miles at a sustained 55 miles per hour for in town commuting.
